Happy!!

Well this afternoon we had my first OB appointment. First, I really liked her, and will probably stick with this practice instead of trying to get into the midwifery group 45 min. south. This hospital is only about 10 minutes from our house, and approx. 2 from my mom's, so it works really well...I'd probably be able to go home within hours if all went well! :-D Second, she did an ultra-sound and we got to see baby! :-D I'll try to post the pictures if they'll scan. She did move my due date back a bit later, to around May 15th, but that's perfectly fine with me. What a busy baby!! I've thought I had felt him/her before this, but I definitely felt a barrage of feet and hands and knees and elbows while she was moving that funny wand around on my belly. So cute! We got to see both legs and feet, both arms and hands, and several good views of the face profile. Plus things like heart and kidneys and cord and such. I'll have my next apt. in 4 weeks, and the "big" ultrasound about 4 weeks after that. I used to baby sit for the lady who does the ultrasound, so it will be nice to see her again. I'm going to try really hard to not ask to find out, but I just don't know if I can stand it!! :) Especially after seeing him/her...now I want to know who it is!! lol Oh well....we'll see. :) I am excited though, because now I can go along with all my sewing plans. I'm helping one friend with some of her sewing for her new baby, but she is coming in early Jan. so I'll have plenty of time after that...plus I'll be able to test out several of my patterns this way. ;-)

In other news, I got my apron swap box today from Sommer! It is so lovely! I get the claim of recieving her first homemade apron! She did a beautiful job...I'll share pictures once she has hers. She also tucked in some fun goodies; a beautiful piece of fabric to play with for Jenny (yellow with purple butterflies!!), some *beautiful* ribbon, and ribbon roses. Her girls even sent me some "button lamps" that are just too cute! (Button lamp info will follow...it's from the Little House books! can anyone remember which book??) I have just fallen in love with these little things...I confess I hadn't remembered them from the story, but they are just terribly cute! I plan on making several more and filling a little basket with them...maybe even hanging some on the tree etc. I think that making them from seasonal fabric squares would be really cute...it has my brain spinning!! Thank you so much Miss Fiona and Miss Brenna!!

Well that's all for today, I'll try to share more tomorrow, but then we'll be gone this weekend...Joe and I will get our first night away Saturday! We're going to leave Jenny with Eliza/my family and go camping! Not the most warm/comfertable, but we'll be camping on the C & O trail, so it is free, and it will be a beautiful drive up into WVA. We're going to be getting everything ready tomorrow night....meat and veggie foil packs, s'mores ingredients, etc. :) Maybe even some baby-friendly sparkling cider. :) I know I'll miss Jenny, but I know she'll be fine for one night, and I can't wait for that camp fire!!

As you know..I'm so happy that you had such a good appt and that you were happy with the apron and goodies:-) Would I be cheating if I said which book those lamps are from? I guess I ought to let others try...

Have a great weekend!

How exciting to see the baby! I was always thrilled to see mine. Both times I saw my babies for the first times was the "reality" moment for me. Hope you're having a great time on your camping trip!

Isn't it from "The Long Winter" (or that's the name in Norwegian, but I know that some of the books were split in two etc. when they were translated). But how do you make these button lamps any way? I can't remember, and I don't have the book. Anyone who wouldn't mind to tell me??
Happy Advent, by the way..
Nice blog, Tilly =)
GOD BLESS,
