A Happy Girl

Very happy indeed! :) This weekend I...

~Went grocery shopping *by my self*--the first time that I've gone since having Anthony too!

~Cleaned my living room--we're not talking vacuumed under the couch and dusted, but I did vacuum and finish sorting/stashing Jenny's toys!

~Mixed up muffin batter-- it goes in the fridge over night so I'll bake them tomorrow...the recipe will be posted below.

~Got a new camera!!

~Chose a paint color for my living room and foyer and got paint!

So, to follow through in order...

Raisin Bran Muffins

Mix in *very* large bowl:
7 cups raisin bran cereal
5 cups flour
2 cups sugar
5 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt

Mix in separate mixing bowl:
4 cups milk
2 Tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup molasses OR 1 cup oil OR 1 cup applesauce (I'm using the applesauce this time)
4 eggs

Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix all wet ingredients together. Mix all ingredients together in a *very large* mixing bowl. (For those of you familiar with Tupperware I used my "That's a Bowl" for this!) Cover and store overnight in refrigerator. Fill muffin cups or greased pans 1/2-3/4 full and bake in a preheated 400*F oven for 15 minutes or until Makes over 4 dozen...but! You can store this in your fridge and just make them up as you need them....that batter lasts for a while this way and prevents the problems most of us would run into with 4 dozen muffins.... :)

The next two things (camera and paint!) I can sort of share in the same breath since I took some pictures of my paint chips. :) This is the camera I got...except mine looks far cooler since it's red. :) So far it's working well and I *love* the 3" screen on the back. I think that with some practice I'll really like the whole camera.

After painting swatches of two colors all over my living room and foyer to test them in the light, I have chosen Martha Stewart's "Cave Pool" (greener) over "Blue Strawberry Pot" (bluer and to dark) for my living room and the lower half (under the chair rail) in my foyer. The living room trim and upper half of the foyer (and down the hall) will be Martha Stewart's "Kitchen Twine".

The view from just right of my front door...the chair rail is about as high as that bookshelf ...I'm trying to pull the colors from that rug...I *love* it!
From in front of my living room windows...that door to the left is currently Joe's office and the beginning of the hallway
My colors!

And Mr. Hunkamunka...sweetly sleeping in his swing so I can post! (Actually in the time it's taken me to upload the pictures he's woken up and is yelling from his daddy's shoulder...time for me to go!)

Mr. Hunkamunka is so cute! Look at those cheeks!

I love the color combination too. That teal is one of my favorite colors. You'll have to post after pictures!

I love the colors you have chosen for your paint! And thanks for posting the Bran Muffin recipe. My mom used to make those all the time and I miss them. They are *so* good with tea in the mornings! :) I'll have to try out that recipe myself! Little Anthony is getting so big. What cute toes he's got!
