KITTIES!!

Well today has been a lovely Sunday. We stayed home from church because they're re-modeling the building (very exciting), and they had just varnished the new wood flooring on the altar, and I think the smells would be to much for me and Jenny right now. We decided to take advantage of the warmer-than-lately weather to hang our Christmas lights outside. I know it's early, but I hate putting them up when its freezing out, so we'll just wait to turn them on, but it's all done! When we were out on the front porch putting them up, we heard some very tiny "meows", and Jenny started yelling "Kitty CAT--KITTY CAT!!" So we looked over the edge and sure enough two tiny little calico kittens were just coming out from under the porch. At first we sort of ignored them...but they kept on and were so tiny and pathetic that we started to look. We noticed that despite looking nice so far as fur goes, they were really skinny underneath. So we brought out some water and a can of tuna...we now have friends. :D One is bigger, so she tends to dominate the food dish, but we're working on that. One has taken to Joe (and him to her) and we've named her "Bridget", and the other smaller one (who seems to have a fondness for me, despite her somewhat jumpy nature) we're calling "Daisy". They are just beautiful and have the neatest rings around their tails. We've moved them to the back porch for now with a snug little box (which they don't seem very interested in) some more tuna and fresh water. We're going to check with the neighbors to be sure that they're not someone else's kittens, but otherwise we plan on keeping them. We'll take them down to the vets soon to make sure they're all set and ready for being pets. Jenny is going to be so thrilled when she wakes up from her nap and finds them back there to play with! Here are some pictures of the new girls in our life. :)Me and Miss Daisy...
