Was orchard day! We all piled into my family's big van (with Heather and Lottie!) and drove out into the country to an orchard we've been visiting for years. We got 9 different kinds of apples! Most of them were already off of the trees, but it was fun to choose them out of the big bins anyway. :) Then we each got to choose a pumpkin! Jenny loved them, and instantly grabbed a tiny, yet perfectly round one and declared, "Mine-(what) is it?" "It's a pumpkin honey." "Mine PUMPKIN!"...she proceeded to carry it around for the rest of the time we were there! :) She was anxious to show Daddy her "is it?...pu'pkin!" My mom also got us some fresh cider and a pretty pot of dark red mums. I can't wait to pull together our fall porch! :) I need to make a wreathe for the front porch, but I think I'm going to mainly focus on the back porch...where we enter our house. Oh, and also something to figure into my back porch is my soon-to-be freezer! We are getting it in anticipation of the arrival of a pig my grandfather has been raising for us in the next few weeks. :) Then I'll finally be able to start planning my once a month cooking and begin stocking up on meals for when the baby comes. I think it will be a big help! My mom made us up some neat bags of chicken breasts, with a different marinade in each, for after Jenny came. It was neat 'cause as the meat thawed, it soaked in the marinade, so we just then had to pop it in the oven!
Well I'm off to try to get in a bit of sewing while I'm feeling well and Jenny's napping. :) hmmm...and maybe I can whip up something for dinner and surprise Joseph! lol...we'll see :)
